I started this acrylic painting, which is about 9x12" in April. It was a real struggle to finish, and I almost abandoned it completely today. Instead, I managed to finish it. I realized that I was trying to make Moxie look too much like the photograph instead of how I saw him. Once I realized that, my brush was flying! The camera removes that living element sometimes. Moxie is almost all white, so any shadows are really subtle and he doesn't have any typical budgie patterns. There's lots of layering on his head.
